Audi has officially unveiled the all-new 2027 Q9 and SQ9, marking the brand’s entry into the full-size luxury SUV segment. Positioned above the Q7, the new flagship SUVs offer three-row seating, premium technology and powerful petrol engines. Moreover, the Q9 lineup targets rivals such as the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS and Range Rover, giving buyers in the Middle East another premium family SUV option.
Flagship Design & Bigger Dimensions
The 2027 Audi Q9 introduces a cleaner design with smooth body surfaces and a more commanding road presence. It measures 5,311 MM in length and rides on a 3,140 MM wheelbase, making it significantly larger than the Q7. Furthermore, the SUV features an illuminated Singleframe grille, illuminated Audi rings and new Matrix LED headlights paired with curved OLED taillights.
Powerful Petrol Engines & Quattro AWD
The standard Q9 uses a turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine producing 429 HP and 442 LB-FT of torque. It sends power to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission with Audi Quattro all-wheel drive. Audi claims the SUV accelerates from 0 to 97 KM/H in 4.9 seconds while offering a towing capacity of up to 3,493 KG.
The performance-focused SQ9 features a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine delivering 591 HP and 590 LB-FT of torque. It also uses an 8-speed automatic transmission and Quattro AWD with a rear-biased setup, an electronic locking rear differential and brake torque vectoring. As a result, the SQ9 reaches 97 KM/H from a standstill in just 3.8 seconds.
Adaptive Suspension & Advanced Dynamics
Both SUVs come equipped with adaptive air suspension that adjusts ride height by up to 89 MM. Ground clearance reaches 254 MM when needed. Additionally, four-wheel steering is available on higher trims, while multiple drive modes adjust suspension, steering, throttle response and torque distribution for different road conditions.
The optional S Sport Package on the SQ9 adds a firmer suspension setup for sharper handling without compromising long-distance comfort.
Premium Cabin & Modern Technology
Inside, the Q9 offers a spacious three-row cabin with standard 2-3-2 seating or an optional 2-2-2 captain’s chair configuration. Heated front sport seats come standard, while ventilated and massage seats are available on higher trims.
The dashboard features an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen and a standard 12.3-inch passenger display. Moreover, the Android-based infotainment system supports third-party apps and integrates Amazon Alexa voice control. Buyers can also choose a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen 4D audio system with 1,360 W output, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and dimmable glass roof technology.
Safety & Driver Assistance
Audi equips the Q9 with the latest driver assistance technologies, including Matrix LED headlights with glare-free high beam, automated parking assistance and a built-in dash camera on the SQ9. Furthermore, both front and rear turn signals project onto the ground, improving visibility in low-light conditions.
Prices In The Middle East
Audi has not confirmed official pricing for GCC markets. However, the 2027 Audi Q9 is expected to start from around AED 330,000 in the UAE, while the high-performance SQ9 could be priced from approximately AED 440,000. Final prices across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman will depend on local taxes, specifications and optional equipment.
Launch Timeline & Rivals
Audi will launch the Q9 and SQ9 in North America first during late 2026, with Middle East deliveries expected to begin in early 2027. Once available, the new flagship SUVs will compete with the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Range Rover, Lexus LX and Cadillac Escalade.
