Larger & More Spacious Design
Hyundai has revealed the full specifications of the redesigned 2027 Tucson. The new compact SUV grows in length, width, height and wheelbase. These changes create more rear-seat space and increase cargo capacity to 42 cubic feet. The exterior also adopts a more distinctive design with full-width LED lighting at both ends.
New Turbocharged Base Engine
The 2027 Tucson replaces the previous naturally aspirated 2.5-litre engine with a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder. It produces 184 HP and 195 LB-FT of torque. While power drops slightly, torque increases considerably over the outgoing engine. Hyundai will offer both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
233 HP Hybrid Powertrain
The hybrid combines the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine with two electric motors. Total system output reaches 233 HP. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions will be available. Hyundai estimates up to 42 MPG combined for the front-wheel-drive hybrid, representing a 4 MPG improvement over the previous AWD-only hybrid.
Hybrid Adds More Towing Capacity

The hybrid Tucson also gains a 3,000-pound towing rating. Hyundai has not confirmed a plug-in hybrid for the US market, although the company has discussed potentially introducing a range-extender powertrain to the Tucson in the future. That technology remains unconfirmed for production.
Updated Interior Technology

The new cabin features a standard 12.9-inch central touchscreen, while a 17-inch display will be available on higher variants. Both systems use Hyundai’s Pleos Connect software and feature an AI-powered voice assistant. A slim digital display near the windshield provides essential driving information.
Physical Controls Remain
Hyundai has retained physical controls for several functions. Volume and tuning knobs sit below the central screen, alongside physical climate controls. Ergo Motion massaging front seats will also be available. Other features include column-mounted gear selection and dual wireless smartphone charging pads.
XRT Pro Adds Off-Road Capability
The new Tucson introduces an XRT Pro variant aimed at buyers seeking greater off-road capability. It receives increased ground clearance, all-terrain tyres, skid plates and a distinctive front-end design. Carbon-fibre-look trim also helps differentiate the variant from the standard Tucson range.
Middle East Relevance
The Tucson is an established model across Middle Eastern markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Its larger cabin, improved hybrid efficiency and new technology could strengthen its appeal in the region. However, Hyundai has not yet confirmed Middle Eastern specifications or whether every US-market powertrain will be offered locally.
Prices In The Middle East
Hyundai has not announced pricing for the 2027 Tucson in the Middle East. US pricing is also yet to be revealed. Regional prices will depend on engine availability, equipment levels, taxes and local market positioning. More information should emerge closer to the SUV’s regional launch.
Expected Launch Timeline

The 2027 Hyundai Tucson is scheduled to reach US dealerships early in 2027. It introduces a larger body, a new turbocharged base engine and a 233 HP hybrid powertrain. The XRT Pro also expands its capability-focused lineup. Middle Eastern launch dates and specifications remain unconfirmed.
