Bentley Enters The EV Era

Bentley has unveiled the 2028 Torcal as its first-ever fully electric vehicle. The luxury SUV combines a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with high-performance technology and handcrafted materials. Named after the El Torcal de Antequera rock formation in Spain, the Torcal also introduces Bentley’s redesigned emblem on a production model.
Exterior Design

The Torcal measures more than 16 feet in length and has a roofline around two inches lower than the Bentayga. Its design features a square front end, rectangular headlights and muscular bodywork. An illuminated diamond-pattern grille adds a distinctive element, while the rear design takes inspiration from Bentley’s EXP 15 concept.
Torcal S Gets More Performance
The standard Torcal produces 810 HP and 881 LB-FT of torque through its dual-motor powertrain. The sportier Torcal S increases output to 876 HP and 996 LB-FT. Bentley claims the Torcal S can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 2.8 seconds, making both versions the most powerful production Bentleys to date.
Chassis Technology
Every Torcal comes with fully active suspension using electrically driven hydraulic pumps to control body movements. Rear-axle steering is also standard to improve manoeuvrability. Bentley offers large performance brakes, including optional carbon-silicon-carbide rotors measuring 17.1 inches at the front and 16.1 inches at the rear.
800-Volt Electrical Architecture
The Torcal shares its basic architecture with the Porsche Cayenne Electric. Both models use a 119.0-inch wheelbase, an 800-volt electrical system and a 108 KWH battery pack. US-specification models will feature a NACS charging port, while a 400-KW connection can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in around 16 minutes.
Up To 320 Miles Of Range
Bentley has not yet received final EPA certification for the Torcal. However, preliminary estimates suggest the electric SUV could travel around 320 miles on a full charge. Bentley also estimates that adding around 100 miles of range could take approximately seven minutes using a suitable 400-KW fast charger.
Handcrafted Luxury Interior

The Torcal retains Bentley’s winged dashboard design with premium materials and diamond-inspired detailing. Its technology includes automatic facial recognition, a curved OLED touchscreen and a 28-speaker Naim sound system. Front passengers receive 16-way power-adjustable seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions.
Three-Seat Rear Cabin
The rear cabin introduces a three-seat layout with power-folding functionality for the first time in a Bentley. The Torcal also features a dimmable panoramic sunroof that can be opened. Bentley has introduced 100 percent merino wool as a new automotive material, while power-operated doors add another luxury feature.
Unique EV Sound
Bentley has developed a dedicated sound experience for the Torcal instead of replicating a conventional V8 soundtrack. The system uses a drum-beat-inspired sound designed around the imperfections of a combustion engine’s firing sequence. A rear-mounted external speaker allows pedestrians to hear the synthetic sound, while Bentley says the recordings used natural sources.
Middle East Relevance
The Torcal could be particularly relevant to Bentley’s Middle Eastern markets, where high-performance luxury SUVs have a strong presence. Its combination of long-distance electric capability, rapid charging and premium interior technology could suit customers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Regional specifications may differ from the US version.
Prices In The Middle East
Bentley has not announced Middle Eastern pricing for the Torcal. In the US, the electric SUV is expected to cost below the Bentayga, which starts at around $230,000. UAE and Saudi Arabia pricing could vary based on local taxes, specifications, options and importer costs. Official regional prices are expected closer to launch.
Expected Launch Timeline

The 2028 Bentley Torcal is expected to go on sale in the US in early 2027. It will become Bentley’s first production EV while expanding the brand’s electric lineup into the luxury SUV segment. Middle Eastern launch dates and specifications have not yet been confirmed.
