Introduction
Polestar has revealed the all-new 2026 Polestar 5, arriving as the brand’s premium performance grand tourer and the most powerful production car in its history. Building on the dramatic 2020 Precept concept, the four-door, low-slung electric sedan targets high-end rivals with stunning design, elite powertrains, and advanced charging capability.
Powertrain, Performance, & Range

Two dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configurations are available. The standard Dual Motor model produces 748 horsepower (550 kW) and 812 NM, launching from 0–100 KM/H in 3.9 seconds. The Performance version raises output to 884 horsepower (650 kW) and a towering 1015 NM, sprinting to 100 KM/H in an astonishing 3.2 seconds. Both are limited to a top speed of 250 KM/H. A massive 112 kWh (usable) NMC lithium-ion battery powers both variants using an 800 V architecture, enabling DC fast charging up to 350 kW. WLTP range is up to 670 KM (416 MI) for Dual Motor and 565 KM (351 MI) for Performance, with charging from 10–80% in just 22 minutes. Efficiency is rated at 17.6–18.3 kWh/100 KM (Dual Motor) and 20.9 kWh/100 KM (Performance).
Design, Comfort, & Technology

The Polestar 5 echoes the Precept with aerodynamic lines, minimalist styling, flush glass, active grille shutters, and a low roofline supported by a rigid aluminium chassis. Inside, four individual seats (with optional fifth-seat capability) are set lower for optimal headroom, and the rear battery cutout creates a spacious, comfortable cabin. The dashboard integrates a digital interface and sustainable trim materials. Brembo brakes (with Swedish Gold callipers) and forged wheels complete the sporting package.
Pricing & Availability (AED)
In Germany, pricing starts at about €119,900 (AED 472,000) for the Dual Motor and €142,900 (AED 563,000) for the Performance version. Models will be available in 24 launch markets, with the UAE expected among early adopters, although U.S. sales may be delayed due to tariffs. Full specifications and online ordering are available on the Polestar site.
Conclusion

The 2026 Polestar 5 sets a new benchmark for Scandinavian electric performance, blending spectacular styling, breakthrough power, long-distance range, and rapid charging, all with the luxury and comfort expected of a flagship GT. It competes head-to-head with elite offerings from Porsche, Lucid, and Tesla, redefining what performance EVs can be in the UAE and globally
