After a six-year wait since its stunning debut at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the De Tomaso P72 is finally ready for production. Reviving the iconic brand after a decade-long period of problems, the P72 returns in its final production form, complete with a curvaceous carbon-fibre body, a luxurious handcrafted interior, and a powerful V8 engine paired with a raw manual transmission. With only 72 units planned, deliveries of this limited-edition supercar will begin later this year. Let’s dive deeper to explore what makes this hypercar so special:
Design

The design of the De Tomaso P72 is a breathtaking blend of vintage motorsports inspiration and modern craftsmanship. Its flowing, aerodynamic curves pay homage to classic endurance racers of the 1960s, while its carbon fibre monocoque chassis ensures high performance and lightweight characteristics. The exterior features curvy lines, sculpted fenders, and dramatic rear haunches, making the P72 stand out from any angle and the customer looks at.

The rear has a similar fairytale. Aggressive yet elegant design features such as sculpted fenders, circular-shaped rear LED taillamps, and a shiny De Tomaso logo hanging with a ton of legacy and pride. Allover, the exterior design of the P72 is undoubtedly the most breathtaking of designs on supercars and hypercars.
Interior – Craftsmanship At Peak

The interior of the De Tomaso P72 is a target towards handcrafted luxury and vintage-inspired design. Step inside, and you’re greeted by rich, quilted leather upholstery, polished metal accents, and a stunning exposed gear linkage that highlights the car’s mechanical and manual transmission-ed soul. Analogue gauges and toggle switches add to the retro charm, offering a tactile, driver-focused experience rarely found in modern supercars today. Every detail, from the cream-colored leather to the hand-finished trim, reflects De Tomaso’s dedication to craftsmanship and exclusivity. The P72’s interior doesn’t fail to amuse its driver with exclusivity and a luxurious experience.
The Interior’s styling is the best example of when a car maker takes on making a sports car that is far from today’s touch screen showdown and capacitive touch jockery. De Tomaso has taken the interior of this vehicle to a level which can be compared to the likes of Pagani, Raw, Vintage and performance oriented.
American Horses Revive the Italian Legacy
DeTomaso has not only made this car look good, but feel good as well. To make its customer feel good, the rear of this car is fitted with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 700 BHP to the crank. Connected to this American V8 is a 6-speed manual transmission, taking these horses to the rear wheels of the P72.

DeTomaso P72- Our Verdict
The pricing of the P72 is not going to be cheap. The expected pricing of the P72 is expected to start at around 1.7 Million Dollars American but can go well over that. And, at this price range, lot of other hypercars and supercars exist for different tastes of customers. If a customer prefers a raw rear-mid engined hypercar that focuses on craftsmanship and exclusivity, the P72 will make a perfect choice.
