Just a few weeks ago, Ferrari showed us the track special version of the Ferrari 296 GTB, known as the Ferrari 296 Speciale. The Speciale is essentially the baby track weapon, as we’ve mentioned earlier. It hasn’t been long since the 296 GTB was launched, and now this lighter Speciale version of the 296 is getting a Piloti version. At its heart lies the same 3.0-litre V6 Hybrid engine now making 869 BHP, making this the most powerful rear-wheel drive Ferrari ever made. This can send the 296 Speciale to 100km/h from standstill in under 2.8 seconds.

If you’re a Ferrari Fan, the word “Piloti” isn’t new for you, as a few years ago we saw one of the most desirable Ferraris of all time, the 488 Pista Piloti. The pilot versions are generally reserved for Ferrari’s Racing drivers, and if you’re a regular customer, get ready to empty your wallet for a Piloti version. It’s the latest offering from Ferrari’s Tailor Made programme, and is designed to celebrate the brand’s recent success at Le Mans and in the World Endurance Championship.

Ferrari 296 Speciale Piloti – Enhanced Racing Interior
Inside the cabin, the Piloti continues its race-first philosophy. You won’t find luxury leather or plush trim here; instead, it’s Alcantara, carbon-fibre, and weight-saving intent everywhere you look. The racing bucket seats are ultra-light and offer deep bolstering, perfect for keeping you planted during high-G cornering. A red 12 o’clock stripe on the steering wheel and custom stitching add just the right hint of motorsport victory.

The digital cockpit remains familiar to 296 GTB owners, but in the Piloti, much of the non-essential tech has been stripped down or de-emphasised. The focus is on performance data, telemetry, and track information. There’s a minimal stereo and no carpet on some trim levels; every kilogram counts. But it still feels premium, because Ferrari knows how to balance Spartan and stunning.
Ferrari 296 Speciale Piloti – Powertrain

The 296 continues with the Hybrid setup. The twin-turbo V6 alone produces 654 HP, while the electric motor fills in torque for instant acceleration. Together, they send 850 combined horsepower to the rear wheels, making this one of the fastest Ferraris ever with a V6.

Performance figures are mind-bending: 0–100 km/h in under 2.7 seconds, 0–200 in around 7.5, and a top speed of over 330 km/h. With Ferrari’s Side Slip Control, active aero, and weight shaved down by more than 30 kg over the standard GTB, the Speciale is expected to be a track-killer.
Ferrari 296 Speciale Piloti – Verdict

This is another Ferrari that will become unreasonably expensive in the used car market due to extremely high demand and desirability. The 296 Speciale Piloti is the baby Track Ferrari that is reserved just for racing drivers or extremely close clients of Ferrari.
