Ferrari F80 – Worth Talking About ?

1 min read

Ferrari’s F80 is not just the next step, it’s a directional shift. With the Maranello marque moving toward electrification and downsizing, the F80 becomes the first halo Ferrari to feature a V6 powerplant. But don’t mistake this for compromise. This is a machine engineered to push limits and break your bones with it’s G forces, rethink expectations, and prove that smaller displacement doesn’t mean less power.

Overview

Replacing the iconic LaFerrari in spirit, the Ferrari F80 isn’t a direct successor but a new kind of flagship. Built around a lightweight chassis, active aerodynamics, and a – e Turbo hybrid system anchored by a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6, the F80 is Ferrari’s clearest vision of future performance. Lightweight, brutally quick, and dripping in F1-derived tech, it aims to combine high-revving intensity with electric immediacy.

With aggressive weight savings, sub-1,600 KG curb weight, and a hybrid drivetrain that adds both power and agility, the F80 isn’t trying to outshout its past, it’s trying to outrun it.

Exterior Design

The F80’s look is dramatic, purposeful, and aerodynamic. Its sculpted body integrates active aero elements, including an S-duct front splitter, deployable rear wing, and oversized diffuser, generating more than 1,050 kg of downforce at high speeds. Carbon-fibre surfaces dominate, and the asymmetric 1+1 cockpit packaging brings the driver closer to the centerline.

Powertrain

At its heart lies a 2.9 L twin-turbo V6 (Tipo F163 CF) derived from Ferrari’s 499P Le Mans prototype. It makes 900 HP. Three Ferrari-developed electric motors, one rear, two front, which add 296 HP, for a combined output of 1184 HP.

Performance figures are staggering: 0–100 KM/H in 2.15 s, 0–200 KM/H in 5.75 s, and a top speed of 350 KM/H. Power flows through an 8-speed F1-style dual-clutch transmission to all four wheels, offering instantaneous torque vectoring and launch control.

Interior

Inside, the focus is laser-sharp. The cockpit features carbon-fibre bucket seats and a fully digital instrument cluster angled toward the driver, what Ferrari terms a 1+1 layout. Functionality is paramount: the steering-wheel-mounted manettino toggles drive modes: Hybrid, Performance, and Qualifying, with minimal clutter. Materials include Alcantara, carbon trim, and lightweight paddles. Despite the racer’s soul, essentials like climate control and infotainment remain, albeit pared down.

Pricing In AED

In the UAE, the Ferrari F80 is expected to carry a starting price of around AED 13,600,000 (approx. USD 3.9 Million). Given the bespoke nature of each build and limited run, fully optioned examples could exceed this figure. This price range is of complete hypercar and exclusive restomod territory. This F80 will directly rival the McLaren W1, and if we’re lucky, Porsche will join this territory soon and complete the holy trinity of this decade.

Final Word

The Ferrari F80 is both a capstone and a new chapter. With its hybrid V6 tuned for maximum power density, active aerodynamics derived from endurance and F1, and extreme weight-saving design, it’s Ferrari’s most technically advanced road car yet. Limited, ferocious, and unapologetically future-facing, the F80 proves that downsizing, done with intent, can redefine speed.
