Jaguar has revealed the production interior of its upcoming Type 01 electric vehicle. The new cabin marks a major departure from the traditional Jaguar design language. Instead of wood and chrome, the four-seat EV uses minimalist surfaces, metallic finishes and a strong horizontal theme. Jaguar will reveal the complete production car in October 2026.

Minimalist Cabin Breaks With Jaguar Tradition

The Type 01 interior takes a completely different approach from older Jaguar models. The cabin uses clean lines and limited physical controls throughout the dashboard and doors.
A long centre console runs between the front and rear seats. It also features a central groove that continues the cabin’s horizontal design theme.

Four-Seat Layout

The Type 01 features four sculpted seats with a simple design. Jaguar says the seating position provides a GT-style driving experience.
A narrow glass roof stretches far towards the rear of the cabin. Meanwhile, the doors and centre console feature metallic brass finishes instead of traditional wood trim.

Digital Displays Add Modern Technology

Jaguar has equipped the Type 01 with several digital features. A large display sits directly ahead of the driver and provides key vehicle information.
The EV also uses a camera-based digital rearview mirror. Its display sits near the base of the windshield, while a smaller central touchscreen handles functions such as climate control.

Horizontal Design Defines The Interior

Horizontal elements form the main visual theme inside the Type 01. The centre console, door panels and armrests all use long, straight lines.
The two-spoke steering wheel continues this design approach. Similar straked elements also connect the dashboard with the exterior bodywork near the windshield.

New Design Direction For Jaguar EVs

The Type 01 represents a major change in Jaguar’s approach to interior design. The cabin avoids many traditional luxury details and instead focuses on simplicity and modern technology.
This approach places the Type 01 closer to contemporary premium EVs while giving it a distinct visual identity.

Prices In The Middle East

Jaguar has not announced official pricing for the Type 01 in Middle Eastern markets. The company has also not released complete technical specifications. Based on its premium positioning, the Type 01 could start around AED 450,000 in the UAE. Prices may vary across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman depending on specifications, taxes and optional equipment.

Launch Timeline & Rivals

Jaguar will showcase the Type 01 interior during Monterey Car Week in August 2026. The company plans to reveal the complete production car on October 6, 2026. Final powertrain and pricing details should arrive closer to the global debut. Once launched, the Type 01 could compete with premium electric GTs such as the Porsche Taycan, Maserati GranTurismo Folgore and Mercedes-Benz EQS. Overall, the Type 01 introduces a bold new interior direction for Jaguar’s next generation of electric vehicles.
