Jeep has issued a recall covering 328,381 Grand Cherokee models because of a potential rear suspension issue. The recall affects certain Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L and Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. Incorrectly installed rear coil springs could detach while driving, creating a safety risk for occupants and other road users.
Models Affected By The Recall

The recall covers selected 2021–2023 Grand Cherokee L models. Certain 2022–2023 Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee 4XE models are also included. Vehicles equipped with air suspension are not part of the recall because they use a different suspension setup.
Rear Coil Springs Could Detach
According to the recall documents, some vehicles may have incorrectly installed rear coil springs. The springs themselves are not defective. However, an installation error could allow them to detach from the vehicle while it is moving. A loose suspension component could create a serious road hazard.
Limited Number Of Vehicles Affected
Jeep estimates that only 0.1 percent of the recalled vehicles are actually affected by the incorrectly installed springs. At the time of the recall, the automaker had not identified any accidents or injuries linked to the issue. Jeep had, however, recorded 29 customer assistance reports and 409 warranty claims.
Free Repair For Owners
Jeep will contact owners of affected vehicles with instructions to visit an authorised service centre. Technicians will replace the rear coil-spring lower isolators to address the issue. Owners should follow the recall instructions and arrange the repair as soon as possible.
Middle East Recall Status
The recall was issued in the United States, and Jeep has not confirmed whether the same issue affects vehicles sold across Middle Eastern markets. Owners of Grand Cherokee models in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain or Oman should check with their local Jeep dealer if they are concerned about their vehicle.
Prices In The Middle East
This recall does not involve a change to Grand Cherokee pricing. Current Middle East prices vary by market, model year, powertrain and specification. Jeep has not announced any recall-related compensation or pricing changes for regional customers. Owners should contact their local dealer for vehicle-specific recall information.
What Owners Should Do
Owners who receive a recall notification should arrange an inspection and repair through an authorised Jeep service centre. Until the vehicle is inspected, drivers should remain alert for unusual suspension noises or changes in vehicle behaviour. Any suspected suspension problem should be reported to a dealer immediately.
Verdict

The recall affects a large number of Grand Cherokee vehicles, although Jeep estimates that only a small percentage contain the installation issue. No related accidents or injuries had been reported when the recall was filed. Middle Eastern owners should confirm their vehicle’s status with Jeep if the same production specifications were sold in their market.
