Jensen International Automotive has revealed the new Interceptor GTX, bringing back the iconic grand tourer name with a modern track-focused design. The new model combines classic proportions with motorsport-inspired aerodynamics, a supercharged V8 engine and a stripped-back racing cabin. It will initially arrive as a track-only car, while road-legal GT and GTR versions are planned for the future.
Supercharged V8 Delivers 960 HP

The Interceptor GTX uses a heavily reworked 6.8-litre supercharged V8 based on a General Motors LT-series engine. It produces 960 HP and sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential transaxle. The engine can rev to 7,000 RPM, while its development potential is rated at up to 1,200 HP and more than 1,350 NM of torque.
Motorsport Hardware For Maximum Control
Power reaches the rear transaxle through a carbon-fibre driveshaft housed inside a steel torque tube. The six-speed sequential gearbox uses straight-cut dog gears, with paddle shifters or a traditional transmission lever. The GTX also features adjustable brake balance, three-way manually adjustable dampers and an aluminium suspension system.
Classic Design With Modern Aerodynamics

The new Interceptor takes inspiration from the original model’s long bonnet and fastback profile. However, its bodywork uses sharper modern lines and extensive aerodynamic elements. The front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and large adjustable rear wing give the GTX a clear track-focused character while retaining the proportions associated with the classic Interceptor.
Rear Wing Produces 771 Pounds Of Downforce
Aerodynamics play a major role in the GTX’s design. A large front splitter manages airflow beneath the nose, while openings behind the front wheels help extract hot air from the brakes. At the rear, a large diffuser works with the adjustable wing to generate more than 771 pounds of downforce, improving stability at high speeds.
Race-Inspired Interior

The cabin follows the same track-focused philosophy. It features an FIA-approved roll cage, Tillett carbon-fibre seats, six-point harnesses and a fire-extinguisher system. A large digital display sits behind the steering wheel, while the absence of a central touchscreen keeps the dashboard focused on driving information.
Lightweight Aluminium Construction
Jensen International Automotive has developed an all-aluminium chassis designed to provide high rigidity while keeping weight under control. The bodywork is also handcrafted from aluminium by British specialists Coventry Metalcraft. However, the company has not yet revealed the official kerb weight of the Interceptor GTX.
Road-Legal Models Are Planned
The GTX will lead a planned Interceptor family. Jensen International Automotive has confirmed the Interceptor GTR as a road-going version with a more restrained aerodynamic package. A luxury-focused Interceptor GT will also join the range, offering cleaner bodywork and a more comfortable character.
Prices In The Middle East

Jensen International Automotive has not announced pricing for the Interceptor GTX or its future road-legal models. Given its limited production, bespoke construction and 960 HP V8 powertrain, the GTX is expected to occupy an ultra-premium position if it reaches Middle Eastern markets. A potential regional price could exceed AED 3 million, although this remains an unofficial estimate.
Middle East Launch Expectations
The Interceptor GTX could appeal to collectors and track enthusiasts in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Gulf markets. However, Jensen has not confirmed Middle East availability. The track-only configuration also limits its suitability for regular road use, while the future GT and GTR models could offer broader appeal in the region.
Future Testing & Production
Jensen International Automotive will now begin dynamic testing and evaluation of the Interceptor GTX. The company plans to work with customers on individual vehicle specifications. Production numbers, customer deliveries and final pricing have not yet been confirmed, while launch details for the GT and GTR remain under development.
Verdict

The Jensen Interceptor GTX combines the character of a classic British grand tourer with extreme modern performance. Its 960 HP supercharged V8, rear-wheel drive and aggressive aerodynamics give it a clear motorsport focus. The future GT and GTR models could make the revived Interceptor more practical for Middle Eastern buyers seeking a rare, high-performance luxury car.
