Powertrain Evolution Over Time

When the Gemera was first revealed, it featured a groundbreaking hybrid setup consisting of a 2.0-LITER INLINE-THREE ENGINE paired with three electric motors. This configuration produced an astonishing 1677 HP and 2581 LB-FT of torque.However, during the development phase, Koenigsegg revised the powertrain to improve efficiency and reduce complexity.

The updated hybrid system replaces the three electric motors with a single 800-HP motor. While this reduced total output to 1400 HP and 1364 LB-FT, it significantly simplified the setup and reduced weight.

The 2300 HP V-8 Option Changes Everything

To satisfy customers seeking maximum performance, Koenigsegg introduced an optional twin-turbo 5.0-LITER V-8 engine. This powerhouse pairs with the electric motor to deliver a staggering 2300 HP and 2028 LB-FT of torque.This configuration transforms the Gemera into one of the most powerful production cars ever built.Interestingly, the majority of buyers opted for this V-8 variant, effectively sidelining the original three-cylinder hybrid concept.
