The year was 2013, and Lamborghini was celebrating its 50th operational year. However, they had to make the occasion special, and they sure delivered. Enter the gorgeous Lamborghini Veneno:

Lamborghini Veneno: An Overview
Lamborghini came up with this gorgeous masterpiece for their 50th anniversary. “Veneno” translates to poison in English, and the Veneno was true to its name. The looks injected into one’s view like poison. Any angle you take, and the Veneno does not disappoint.

The Veneno was a limited run production car, making it one of the most exclusive automotive examples that one could get their hands on. There were 2 models in which the Veneno was available, i.e. a coupe and a roadster. 4 coupes and 9 roadsters were produced, taking the total number to 13. Of these 13 units, one coupe was retained for museum purposes, 3 coupes were painted in Grigio Metalluro with a red, green and white accent, resembling the colors of the Italian flag. The 9 roadster units that were produced were completely customised as per the owner’s taste. The Veneno was launched at the 2013 Geneva motor show for an asking price of 4 million USD back in 2013, making it a pretty expensive purchase. However, despite being launched 12 years ago, the Veneno still looks as menacing as it did when it was first launched.

Performance and Features Overview
The Veneno is largely based on the Aventador. The Veneno is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 engine which produces 750PS and 690NM. This engine is said to be a development of the Aventador’s engine. This increased power output was said to be achieved by enlarging the air intakes and modifying the exhaust system.

The Veneno has many design elements which might seem like they were made for mere showcase but many of the garish design elements of the Veneno are properly functional. The front of the vehicle has been optimised for maximum airflow and improved downforce. The front and rear arches direct air around the car to decrease excessive lift and help in generating downforce. The underbody of the Veneno has been streamlined in such a way that airflow is not interrupted. There is a large carbon fiber wing at the rear which is connected by an LMP style central fin, and is 3 way adjustable. The Veneno comes with 20 inch front wheels and 21 inch rear wheels. The design of the wheels resemble that of a turbine. The wheels are designed in such a way that they direct air to cool the carbon ceramic braking system. The wheels also use a central lock system, making installation and removal of the wheels easier. The Veneno is shod with Pirelli P-Zero tyres.

The Veneno comes with the same carbon fiber monocoque chassis with aluminium front and rear subframe as the Aventador, with the same pushrod suspension. The interior of the Veneno is also largely based on the Aventaador, but with a “Carbon Skin” design element.

The design of the Veneno is a radical departure from previous Lamborghini’s. The design of the Veneno is said to be inspired from sports prototypes and racing cars. The Y shape design elements are a direct lift from the Aventador’s design language, whereas the rear wheel arches are inspired from the Countach.
