McLaren is preparing a new mid-engine hybrid coupe for 2027. Codenamed P34, the new model will sit between the Artura and 750S in the brand’s lineup. The coupe will combine a twin-turbocharged V6 with a hybrid system. McLaren is also developing the transmission in-house. Combined output could reach around 810 HP.

The P34 will become one of several new McLaren models planned through 2028. The company wants to expand its lineup and strengthen its global image.

The new coupe will use a mid-engine layout. McLaren will place the engine behind the cabin and ahead of the rear wheels. The model will also introduce a more luxurious direction for the brand.

810 HP Hybrid Powertrain

The P34 will use a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. An electric hybrid system will work with the petrol engine to deliver around 810 HP.

That figure would put the new coupe above the current 750S in outright power. McLaren will also use a new transmission developed internally. The company has not yet revealed torque, acceleration or top-speed figures.

McLaren F1-Inspired Design

Dealers who saw the P34 during a private meeting provided early details about its design. The new coupe will reportedly measure longer than the Artura.

Its front-end design could also draw inspiration from the iconic McLaren F1. A wedge-shaped profile will reportedly give the car a distinctive appearance. McLaren will reportedly place the engine beneath a tempered-glass cover. This could give the P34 a more dramatic engine-bay presentation.

More Luxury Inside

McLaren plans to give the P34 a more premium interior than its current sports cars. Leather seats will form part of the cabin upgrade.

A large infotainment display will sit alongside a modern digital instrument cluster. These changes reflect CEO Nick Collins’ focus on strengthening McLaren’s brand appeal. The company also plans a four-door model for the following years. That vehicle could take McLaren into the high-performance luxury SUV segment.

Limited Production Planned

McLaren reportedly expects to build around 1,000 P34 examples during its first year. The model could therefore remain relatively exclusive despite its position below the 750S. Pricing should start at around $315,000 in the U.S. market. McLaren expects deliveries to begin in late summer 2027.

Prices In The Middle East

McLaren has not announced Middle East pricing for the P34. U.S. pricing starts at around $315,000 before local taxes and market-specific costs. An official UAE or Saudi Arabian price could therefore differ significantly. McLaren will likely reveal regional pricing closer to the car’s launch.

McLaren’s Next Chapter

The P34 represents a major step in McLaren’s product expansion. Its hybrid V6 should deliver more power than the 750S while adding greater luxury inside.

The new coupe will also arrive ahead of McLaren’s planned four-door model. Together, these cars could broaden the brand beyond its traditional two-door supercars.
