McLaren has unveiled the new 788HS, the most hardcore evolution of the 750S supercar. Limited to just 200 units worldwide, the 788HS combines a more powerful twin-turbocharged V8 engine with extensive aerodynamic upgrades, lower weight and sharper chassis tuning. As a result, it delivers even greater performance while marking the final chapter of McLaren’s acclaimed 720S and 750S lineage.
Aggressive Exterior With Advanced Aerodynamics
The McLaren 788HS features an even more aggressive design than the 750S. A new carbon-fibre S-duct bonnet channels air over the cabin, while a sharper front splitter improves airflow. Moreover, the supercar receives a Formula 1-inspired rear diffuser and a larger active rear wing.
Together, these upgrades generate 10 percent more downforce than the McLaren 765LT. Additionally, extensive carbon-fibre bodywork helps reduce weight while enhancing aerodynamic efficiency.
777 HP Twin-Turbo V8 Performance
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine producing 777 HP and 590 LB-FT of torque. The engine develops its peak power at 7,500 RPM and revs all the way to 8,500 RPM.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a quick-shifting automatic transmission. Consequently, the 788HS accelerates from 0 to 100 KM/H in 2.8 seconds. McLaren also claims the supercar reaches 200 KM/H in just 7.0 seconds before continuing to a top speed of 330 KM/H.
Lighter Body & Sharper Handling
McLaren has reduced the dry weight to approximately 1,265 KG, making the 788HS lighter than the standard 750S. Furthermore, the front ride height sits slightly lower to improve stability during high-speed cornering.
The hydraulic suspension system has also been recalibrated for greater precision. Unlike conventional setups, the system uses interconnected dampers instead of traditional anti-roll bars, delivering improved body control without sacrificing ride quality.
Upgraded Brakes & Performance Hardware
The 788HS benefits from larger carbon-ceramic brakes derived from the McLaren Senna. Six-piston forged aluminium front calipers provide stronger stopping performance during aggressive driving.
Additionally, the supercar introduces centre-lock wheels for the first time in the 720S and 750S family. A lightweight quad-exit titanium exhaust also delivers a more engaging soundtrack while reducing overall weight.
Premium Interior With Exclusive Details
Inside, the cabin remains driver-focused while gaining several exclusive touches. McLaren has fitted a carbon-fibre centre console along with specially perforated performance seats.
Moreover, unique HS badges, embroidered 788HS logos and a numbered production plaque remind owners of the car’s limited-edition status. Every example will also receive bespoke personalisation through McLaren Special Operations.
Prices In India
McLaren has not announced pricing for the 788HS in India. However, if imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the limited-production supercar is expected to carry an estimated starting price of around Rs 7.5 crore (ex-showroom), depending on optional customisation and import duties.
Prices In The Middle East
McLaren has not confirmed official pricing for Middle Eastern markets. However, the 788HS is expected to be priced between AED 3.3 million and AED 3.8 million in the UAE. Prices may vary across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman depending on local taxes, specifications and bespoke McLaren Special Operations options.
Production, Launch Timeline & Rivals
McLaren will build only 200 examples of the 788HS, including 100 Coupes and 100 Spider models. Every car will be individually customised before deliveries begin in global markets. The 788HS also marks the final evolution of the 720S and 750S platform before an all-new successor arrives in 2028. Once launched, it will rival the Ferrari 296 GTB, Lamborghini Temerario, Porsche 911 GT2 RS and Aston Martin Valhalla.
