Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the all-new CLA45 EV, marking a new chapter for its high-performance compact sedan. The latest model replaces the previous turbocharged petrol-powered CLA45 with a powerful all-electric drivetrain. Moreover, the new AMG EV delivers supercar-rivalling acceleration, advanced performance technology and an impressive driving range. The CLA45 EV will be offered as both a sedan and Shooting Brake, although it will not be sold in the United States.
Aggressive Design & Sporty AMG Styling
The new Mercedes-AMG CLA45 EV retains the sleek proportions of the latest CLA while receiving several AMG-specific upgrades. A more aggressive front bumper, larger air intakes and unique alloy wheels give it a sharper appearance. Additionally, aerodynamic enhancements improve high-speed stability without compromising efficiency.
Buyers can choose between the four-door sedan and the practical Shooting Brake. Both versions feature distinctive AMG styling elements that separate them from the standard CLA EV.
670 HP Tri-Motor Electric Powertrain
Power comes from three axial-flux electric motors, with two mounted on the rear axle and one driving the front wheels. Together, the system delivers a maximum temporary output of 670 HP and a continuous output of 603 HP.
The intelligent all-wheel-drive system distributes power instantly for maximum traction. As a result, the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 EV accelerates from 0 to 100 KM/H in just 2.7 seconds. That makes it around one second quicker than the previous-generation CLA45.
High Speed Performance & AMG Driving Experience
The new CLA45 EV offers an electronically limited top speed of 250 KM/H as standard. However, models equipped with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package can reach 269 KM/H.
Mercedes-AMG has also developed simulated gear shifts, seat vibrations and realistic engine sounds to deliver a more emotional driving experience. Instead of creating artificial sounds, engineers recorded a genuine AMG four-cylinder engine to produce over 1,600 authentic audio samples for different driving conditions.
Large Battery & Fast Charging
The AMG CLA45 EV uses a 94 KWH battery pack designed to deliver strong performance and long-distance capability.
Mercedes-AMG claims the sedan offers up to 670 KM of WLTP driving range, while the Shooting Brake achieves up to 639 KM. Furthermore, the battery supports DC fast charging at up to 330 KW, allowing charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes.
Premium Interior & Advanced Technology
Inside, the CLA45 EV combines luxury with AMG-focused technology. The cabin features premium materials, advanced digital displays and performance-oriented controls.
Additionally, the latest infotainment system offers enhanced connectivity, while AMG-specific graphics display real-time performance information. The spacious interior also benefits from the practical packaging advantages of an electric platform.
Prices In India
Mercedes-Benz has not announced plans to launch the AMG CLA45 EV in India. If introduced in the future as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the high-performance electric sedan could carry an estimated starting price of around Rs 1.2 crore (ex-showroom).
Prices In The Middle East
Mercedes-AMG has not confirmed official pricing for Middle Eastern markets. However, the CLA45 EV is expected to be priced between AED 420,000 and AED 480,000 in the UAE. Prices will vary across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman depending on local taxes, specifications and optional equipment.
Launch Timeline & Rivals
Mercedes-AMG will launch the CLA45 EV in selected global markets during 2027. Although it will not be offered in the United States, the model is expected to reach several European and Middle Eastern markets. Once launched, it will compete with performance-focused electric sedans such as the Tesla Model 3 Performance, BMW i4 M60, Audi RS e-tron GT and Hyundai Ioniq 6 N.
