Ram Brings Back The Hemi V8!

1 min read

The 2026 Ram 1500 will once again be available with a 395-HP Hemi V-8 after it was recently discontinued. Ram says it resurrected the V8 due to high customer demand, and it will now co-exist with the base Pentastar V6 and the more potent Hurricane twin-turbo straight-six. The Hemi is a AED 4990 option on most models over the base price of AED 209000 for the V8, and orders are now open; the trucks will reach Ram dealers sometime this summer.

The Hemi V8

The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 returns in the exact same form as it left, featuring a 48-volt eTorque hybrid system along with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The Hemi slots between the Pentastar 305-hp 3.6-liter V6 and the Hurricane twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six, which makes 420 or 550 horsepower in standard or high-output configurations, respectively.

Hilariously, besides the unmistakable growl of a V-8, how will anyone know a Hemi lives under the hood? The customer just has to look for the “Symbol of Protest Badge” on the pickup trucks’ front fenders. The badge itself has a cool design that features a ram head on the front of an eight-cylinder engine block, but the name is strange and seems contradictory.

Ram’s Realisation

The Ram company decided that ultimately, the customer would end up winning. Once the customer dislikes the powertrain option, the vehicle will be entirely ghosted from the market. Such cases have happened before with the likes of Mercedes-Benz with the launch of its C63 hybrid, which replaced a V8 for a hybrid 4 cylinder option, has sold almost none!

Hence, due to public protest and demand, the 5.7-liter V8 returns to growl on every soil it revs. The engine itself is what defines a true V8 pick-up truck, and Ram simply had to respect the customer demand.

Verdict – Will The Ram TRX Come Back?

With the Hemi V8 now back in the lot, the TRX could also be summoned back from the dead! With Reports suggesting that the TRX’s announcement may soon take place, the public demand proves that the customer still loves pure V8 trucks, and there is still a huge market for it. The Ram TRX could make a dramatic return with possibly even more power, in its 6.2-liter V8 form, it’s truly going to be demonic.
