More Power At A Lower Price
Subaru has updated the 2027 Impreza with a more powerful engine and a significantly lower starting price. The entry-level model now costs $25,840, which is $1,950 less than before. At the same time, the RS continues at $30,740. Both versions now use a 2.5-litre boxer engine with standard all-wheel drive.
New 2.5-Litre Boxer Engine
The biggest mechanical change is the new 2.5-litre four-cylinder boxer engine. It produces 180 HP and works with a continuously variable transmission. Previously, the base Impreza used a 2.0-litre engine producing 152 HP. The larger engine therefore gives the entry-level model a notable increase in power without changing its standard all-wheel-drive setup.
Standard Features

The base Impreza comes with 17-inch wheels and a cabin that receives minor material upgrades. Standard equipment includes cloth seats, dual-zone climate control and dual 7.0-inch touchscreens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Subaru also provides adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist across the range.
Impreza RS Adds More Equipment
The RS receives 18-inch wheels, fog lights and a Crystal Black Silica roof spoiler. Its cabin adds black cloth seats, heated front seats, an 11.6-inch touchscreen and a wireless charging pad. Buyers can also add a power sunroof, a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system for an additional $2,070.
New Exterior Colour Option
Subaru has expanded the Impreza’s colour selection for 2027. Ignition Red joins Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Gray Metallic and Sapphire Blue Pearl. Citron Yellow Pearl is also available as an optional colour for an additional $395.
Middle East Relevance
The Impreza could appeal to Middle Eastern buyers looking for a compact car with standard all-wheel drive. However, Subaru’s availability varies significantly across the region, with the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf markets receiving different model lineups and specifications. The 2.5-litre engine could also suit markets where all-wheel-drive capability remains relevant for varied road conditions.
Prices In The Middle East
Subaru has not announced Middle Eastern pricing for the 2027 Impreza. The US starting price of $25,840 provides a reference point, but UAE and Saudi Arabia prices would also reflect shipping, taxes, dealer costs and local equipment. Final regional pricing and availability are expected to depend on Subaru’s market-specific plans.
Expected Launch Timeline

Subaru dealerships in the US are expected to begin receiving the 2027 Impreza towards the end of 2026. The model combines a 180 HP engine with standard all-wheel drive and a lower entry price. Details about availability, specifications and pricing for Middle Eastern markets have not yet been confirmed.
