Subaru has confirmed that production of its all-new Getaway electric SUV has been delayed ahead of its planned launch. The three-row electric SUV was originally scheduled to arrive before the end of 2026. However, Subaru says it requires additional time to complete final adjustments before production begins. Despite the delay, the Getaway remains set to become the most powerful production Subaru ever built.
Production Delayed For Final Adjustments
Subaru has confirmed that the Getaway’s production schedule has been postponed. According to the company, the delay allows engineers to complete final refinements before the SUV enters mass production. Although Subaru has not announced a revised timeline, the postponement is expected to be similar to Toyota’s recently delayed Highlander EV.
420 HP Dual-Motor Electric Powertrain
The Subaru Getaway will feature a dual-motor electric powertrain with standard all-wheel drive. The system produces 420 HP, making it the most powerful production Subaru ever developed. Consequently, the flagship SUV promises strong acceleration while maintaining Subaru’s renowned all-weather capability.
Large Battery Offers Long Driving Range
Subaru will initially offer the Getaway with a 96 KWH battery pack. The larger battery is expected to deliver more than 300 miles of driving range on a full charge. Additionally, Subaru plans to introduce a more affordable version later with a 77 KWH battery, although official range figures have not yet been announced.
