This week we have a stellar classic Porsche that you can buy for AED 598,000! This car is the very reason the 911 brand still carries on within Porsche.

The G50 version of the 3.2 changed various things from the Carrera SC. Namely they added the Bosch Motronic ECU that made the engine far smoother and contributed majorly to making the power also higher.

Moreover the transmission also was changed to the G50 transmission from the 915. This was smoother and had shorter throws and a different placement of the reverse gear in the lever.

The car looks to be in pristine condition

Here are the main things you should know about this Porsche:

  • Mileage: 15,900 km
  • Engine: 3,164cc Flat-6 engine with Bosch Motronic 2 EMS
  • Power: 231 HP @ 5,900 RPM
  • Torque: 284 Nm @ 4,800 RPM
  • Transmission: 5-Speed Manual (G50)
  • Weight: 1,160 kg (Curb weight)

This particular unit is available in the “Marine Blue” colour, and, as mentioned before, has done 15,900 km during its lifetime.

This car was first taken delivery of in 1988, in Japan, then remained mostly unused for several years. Tomini Classics then took ownership of the car, and did a recommission, and used it as a personal vehicle. The car did another 2000 kilometres during these years. They also did the necessary servicing and replaced parts like the starter motor, and the blower motor.

Our Take

If it can be had for cheaper, it’s an absolute win

This car is an absolute classic and is in very good condition. The importance of this car for the 911 marque, and the brand as a whole is very very important. Moreover, this car has done very little miles, if you consider its age.

However an asking price of AED 598,000 is quite high, and we feel that if the price were a bit lower, then this car is an absolute must-have, simply because of how stunning it looks in that blue colour! Let alone all the new tech and that new transmission that this car offered over the SC model that it replaced.
